FOODSERVICE SANITATION

RECERTIFICATION / REFRESHER

Effective October 1, 1999, the Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification (FSSMC) has set changes in the Food Service Sanitation Code (77 Ill. Adm. Code 750).

All certified managers whose certificates are due to expire must attend one of the

following training and/or testing requirements within the five year period in order

to be eligible for renewal.

  • A Department approved 15-hour certification training course, or

  • A Department approved examination, developed in compliance with Section 750.1850, with a passing score of 75% or higher, or

  • A minimum (5) five-hour refresher course provided by an Illinois approved instructor, as defined in ection 750.1810, using a curriculum provided by the Department

Those renewing their City Certificate must do so within thirty days of the expiration date and:

  • Complete a City approved one day Re-Certification Class
  • Complete and pass the examination
